It's been a while.

I keep thinking of things I need to put on here, but I never do.
***Disclaimer: anything about the military that is wrong in here is my fault. I don't always under stand what City Boy is trying to explain to me so there it is.

So far we've found out that pilot training is 99.9% out of the question. City Boy is super bummed but he seems to be taking it well. He's maybe a little more ornery than usual. Those of you who know him know what that means. He is a bug. Well anyways we have been just taking it easy. A few options have come up for what he will do after this job. The job he is in usually only lasts a year. He's been in just over that. I'm proud of what he's accomplished while he been at it. He went from being a normal crew member to crew commander. He works really hard at what he does and takes care of business and never brags about it. (Unless in jest)

The kiddos are doing well. Saidi is starting potty training and loves tortureing her brother. I think it's so funny. She is talking up a storm and definatly is a smartie. A phrase often heard around here is "Member Momma??" This usually means I promised her something a week ago and she is holding me to it. She is growning like a weed and is eating to prove it. Every five minutes is heard as she rubs her belly, "So humry Momma, I so humry." She definatly knows how to play her Daddy. Either she asks him for something I said no to or acts like she can't talk right so he won't know what she's done to make her brother cry.

Donovan is the happiest little man. All smiles but he definately has a LOT of irish in him. Thanks to both sides of the family. Will give you the biggest grin but don't cross him. He hollers when he's hungry and eats like a starving man. The Doc told us not to give him solids yet but when the kids is eating 6 jars of baby food and 5 bottles you know he needs something more. Now he'll eat a whole waffle for breakfast and more pasta than I do at dinner. He's crawling, pulling up, and crusing on the furniture. He said Mama today for the first time and says dada a lot. I'm not quite sure if he know what he's saying when he says Dada but he know Mama.

I'm doing great and trying to get rid of "baby weight" ( More like doughnut and fast food weight)
I have decided that Tv is of the devil because if the camera add ten pounds everyone on Tv need to have a feeding tube placed. (I still watch though).
I have been feeling alot happier and hope the PPD hormones have gone. I recently got called to work with the young women at church. I'm so excited. I loved Primary and am so grateful to have had the chance to learn so much from the kids but it will be nice to be out of there.
I hope to be coming back to New Mexico soon. I told City Boy I plan on it. We decided to use our leave on a family vacation this year. We always go home and it's nice but we will go somewhere else this year. Me and the kids will home later this summer. I have trip planned in May for me and some friends to go to Chicago. I can't wait.

City Boy is up for deployment in September and we're almost positive he will go. That means he will miss Halloween(his favorite holiday) Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. I bummed but it will be ok. We just hope he goes to Qatar or Africa but we won't know till this fall. SO cross your fingers everyone. We have decided to stay in the Air Force for 2 more years and have City Boy get his Masters degree and we'll rethink than. So who knows.
We are going to be moving to a new house on base this summer. They are either renovating or rebuliding houses on base and we'll be moving to a renovated one. I can't complain. The houseing here is great!

Well Elmo is calling so see you next time!!!

I'm allergic to romance!

Anyone who has known us since we got married knows about the honeymoon fiasco. (If you don't know just ask and I'll tell.) So it's no big surprise that we don't really do the big romantic stuff. Our idea of US time is watching Futurama every night before bed. It works for us.
This valentines day City Boy pulled out all the stops!!! He got a barbershop quartet to serenade me on Valentines day and got me the diamond earings I have been mooning over. That in it's self is anything more than I could ever want!! Well he got some really good friends of ours to babysit the kids overnight and took me to a really nice hotel in downtown and made reservations at Landry's for dinner.
We checked into the hotel and it was amazing!! I've never been in one so nice. We than went to dinner. The food was great and it was so nice just to be alone with him. We did a little after shopping at union station.
On the way back to the hotel I started feeling a little sick to my stomache. By the time we got to the hotel I felt so sick. I spend the rest of the night in bed drinking sprite trying not to throw up.
(We ended up watching a few episodes of Futurama)
When we woke up in the morning (not to the sound of Saidi knocking on her door to get out) I felt a little shaky but otherwise fine. But City Boy felt sick and by that evening we were back at home with the kids and City Boy had the flu.
We were not meant to have alone time and romance in our lives. Maybe when we're 40 yr old empty nesters we can be a couple. I think I'll take the hint.

(P.S. It was so nice that he did all that for me. I just feel bad I couldn't enjoy it as much as possible. Thank goodness he's so patient and sweet with me!!!)

What's in a name?

Call me granola or a hippy but I believe that your name is a piece of you. Alot of thought should go into naming your child. When we decided to name our kids we picked names that we felt drawn to. Now I researched what they meant but didn't put much more thought into it. I think we were prompted to name our kids what we did because they fit them to a tee.

Saidi Addison
Saidi is African for helper.
This name fits her so well. She is always there asking to help and will do anything for you the first time. She is so considerate about it too. Just the other day I asked her to bring me the wipies and she said "Ok. Momma, Right back." She was in the middle of watching her favorite show and didn't let that stop her. She is so sweet.
Addison is English for Adams son
(So you can't get it right everytime!!)

Donovan Benjamin
Donovan is Gaelic for Dark Warrior
Now City Boy has always wanted the name Donovan for his son. He's wanted it ever since he was a little kids. Now the meaning of this name worried me. It could go either way. Now with Saidi being such a love I was worried Donovan would turn out to be rottn.Hence his middle name
Benjamin is Hebrew for Son on the Right Hand.
Ok so I felt better about he name once we added the Benjamin.
And his name fits him also. He is a little bugger. He loves to fight. If you put something in his hand and pull on it he will pull right back and laugh and laugh. He love to play tug of war and his favorite place to sit is right on top of his sister. He is such a sweetie too. He cuddles and kisses and will look at you and grin so big.

I think it's cool that the names we found for the kids fit them so well!!!

Mommy Daughter Day

On Saturday I decided it would be fun if me and Saidi went out just us girls for some fun. Since having Donovan I have not been as patient as I should be with Saidi. I know it doesn't make up for it but I need to start spending time with her so we can develop more of a realationship than me hollering at her to get her apple out from under the rug. We went to the mall an had so much fun. We walked to all the differant stores and went into Gymboree. She loved walking through the store looking at all the clothes and saying "Think about it for my birthday." (City Boy has her saying that anytimes she sees something she wants in a store.) Than we went to the candy store and picked out some sweets for her to have over this next week. She thought it was the coolest thing in the world. There was a little kiosk in the middle of the mall that had nothing but a ton of books. Lots of old books and there was a couple of vintage sets of Nancy Drew books by Caroline Keene. She was my favorite when I was young. I think I may get them for her and save them till she's older.

We came to the part in the mall where they have this little train that the kids can ride on. We've put Saidi on it before and she likes the idea but startes crying when it starts up. I love it because City Boy gets in this train car that is about 3 feet wide, 5 feet long, and four feet high. He squeezes in with her and has to squeeze out 2 seconds later when she gets scared. We watched the train and than she saw the carosel right next to it. OH she just had to ride the horses. We left to get some cash and when we came back the lady running it had gone on a break. Right up stairs from the carosel is a store called Build-A-Bear. You pick out the bear or animal you want and take it to the filling station to be filled with stuffing. They not only have bears but they have a section called Friends 2B made. It is little girl dolls with pretty yarn hair. Well Saidi wanted a Friend 2B made. She picked out a little girl with bright purple hair. You also get to pick out outfits for the doll to wear with all sorts of accessories. She took the doll to get stuffed. Before they stich her up they give you a little heart to kiss and put it inside. She than got to go give the doll a "bath". You blow all the extra stuffing and strings off her and dress them. We went to the computer to make a birth certificate and wehn I askes Saidi what she wants to name the doll she said Moon. So Saidi has a new friend named Moon!! It was such a nice day and it was fun to go out with Saidi and not have to haul the boys around with us.

Sarcasim is a gene.

We all know that kids tend to take after their parents. Donovan has gotten a triat from me. Anytime City Boy asks me a dumb question I give him a look that says I'm not going to dignify that with a response. Today I was on the recieveing end of that look. Donovan is able to pull up one things now. He was standing in the living room holding on to a toy and Iwalked up and put out my hand and said "Come here bubba." I was only six inches away. He looks up at me, cocks his eyebrow and laughs. Just a little "ha ha". I felt like such an idiot for even suggesting it. Just think. A 8 month old can put me in my place. That's talent!!!

The Great Chicken Nugget Incident of '08

It is well known that City tends to be a little goofy. He definately makes life interesting around here. So when he started laughing histerically for no apparent reason one night a few weeks ago; I prepared for the worst. Here's our conversation:
CB:HAHAHAHA I did not tell you what happened at work today did I???
Me: Oh No. What did you do now???
CB:HAHAHAHA it's not what I did. It's what me and one of the guys at work did!
Me: Oh no. Just tell me.
CB: HAHAHAHAHA It's so funny!! HAHAHAHAHAHA
We have the Annual Awards Banquet coming up and one of our guys got the
Airman of the Year Award. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA We have to go to the
dinner and it's really expensive. HAHAHAHAHA
$26 for the roast beef
$24 for the Chicken
$20 for the vegetable lasagne
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
and $4 for the childrens Chicken nugget dinner!!!
Me: YOU DIDN'T!!!!
CB: HAHAHAHAHA yes we did. HAHAHAH We're going to be in our military tuxedos
with a bunch of 4 star Generals and Colonels and we're gunna be HAHAHAHA
eating dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
ME: You are a dork. YOU are such a Cheapskate.
CB: No HAHAHAHAH IT's funny!! It's gunna be so cool!! HAHAHAHAHAHA

So I"m sure you get the gist of it. He is a dork. Well I just got a call from City Boy.
The First Shirt ( the guy who makes sure all of the troops are taken care of outside of work i.e. bails them out of jail, makes sure homelife is ok;
Writes them an E-mail saying that the childs menue is not an option for adults and if that changes their ability to go to the banquet he will gladly remove them from the list. He also noted that this wasn't McDonalds, you can't order a happy meal. To which the other guys asked if he got the big boy meal would he be able to still get a toy?

My husband is a total dork. And he wonders why I say that I am no longer capable of being embarrassed by him. I have been desensitized!!

Potty Brain!!!

It Funny How Things Hit You At The Most Random Times. Saidi Went PeePee On The Potty Today!! We were so excited and had a jumping up and down moment. I know I know she's almost 3; she should be potty trained by now but as Chris says "She's on the path now!"
Well I started thinking about how relunctant I have been to start her potty training. Mostly because I'm lazy but I had the thought that my Mom put the time and the effort into potty training me so I should get off my bum and do the same for Saidi.

Man I'm glad Mom took the time cause that is a problem that would be hard to explain!

We're jumping on the bandwagon!!!!

So I've been seeing alot of blogs lately. First it was 15 minute lunch, than Kelly and now Kate. Well not be left out of the fun I'll start one. So visit anytime you want and I'll try to keep everyone updated with important stuff but most likely it will be alot of randomness.
